The video below touches on my thoughts that 'checking in' is an observation - not a judgement or an action. We can then use the information we receive from this observation to resolve, reduce or improve ourselves or our life.
This is especially important when we have spiraled negatively out of control, and perhaps into break down, overwhelm and stress.
To 'check in' is not to judge this, or justify ourselves for feeling this way... it is a tool to help us see the effect something is having on us physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually and then figure out some steps to take as our lifeline.
