=== 4 Sept 2016 === creation of four Jars - Penguin for L.C. - Elephant - Tiger - Butterfly

For around 7hrs yesterday afternoon, and into the night I worked on my next batch of ceramic jars (see photo). From left to right you'll see - butterfly, tiger, penguin and elephant. These are currently very soft (wet) and will require about 7 days to completely air dry slowly.
---
---
BUTTERFLY - is a new design prototype I worked on, which I am thinking will turn out really well. If all works out well till the end of its creation journey I may be taking orders for these next month. Here is a close up of it - I see it being very colourful:
---
---
TIGER - my last batch of jars (from August) I attempted a tiger jar which, in my opinion didn't turn out as well as it could have. So I recreated and improved parts of it.
PENGUIN (for L.C.) - this is a made-to-order jar, which has an improved lid 'lip' design, which makes it more functional for the user. Featuring a pair of penguins on top, the body of the jar will be painted after it comes out of the first kiln firing.
---
---
ELEPHANT - I made an extra one because it is quite popular. So this is available made-to-order - but it is already made.
Current status: air drying for 5-7 days.
Estimated completion: before 30 Sept

=== 31 Aug 2016 === creation of four Elephant Jars - for L.C. (x2) - M.K. - L.S.
These dudes (from photo) are currently very soft, so require at least 7 x days of careful air drying. They must be completely dry before going into the first kiln firing.
I had an idea a couple of nights ago to add a 'lip' or overhang to the lid so that it will lock down and be much more user friendly. So all of these guys have an extra piece of clay around the lid, which I think looks pretty - like the elephant is wearing a cap! I've just lifted them off because I had to wait until the clay was a little harder to see if my idea worked - and I feel it has! - see image below for close up.
Even though these are four elephants of the same sort of template / guide from the previous elephant jar I made - these all have their own unique personalities - a slightly different eye expression or ear curl. I'm having lots of fun with these.
Current status: air drying for 5-7 days.
Estimated completion: before 30 Sept
